Claudine's Hair Salon - About Us

Claudine:

Claudine's Salon opened on June 21, 2002.  This was the fulfillment of a dream to work in and provide a salon environment of comfort and fun, while keeping up with the latest and greatest in technique and technology, thereby providing excellent services designed to exceed your greatest expectations.  While the large salon scene was great for awhile, my clients and I  thoroughly enjoy the intimacy and coziness of my new downsized location.

I wanted to make your time at Claudine's as pleasant as possible, and so I thought about what I would want in a salon.  These things included the best hairstyling, running on time, upbeat music, good beverages, and not having children running around unsupervised.  So far, so good.

I decided to focus exclusively on hair rather than diverging into spa and nail services, ensuring an atmosphere of professionalism and expertise.  This enables me to offer options unavailable at most salons in the area, such as Thermal Straightening and Hair Extension Services.  I regularly attend classes and specialized training to be aware and capable of handling new styles, trends, products and techniques.

I've been doing hair professionally for over thirteen years.  Technically I've been doing hair since I was nine, but neither my Barbies nor my sister would come to me for hairstyling after that experience.  I promise I've learned a lot since then.  I've worked in several salons in the Tri-Valley area, provided hair services in a senior care facility in Danville, and enjoyed styling hair and wigs for various operatic and theatrical performances. Due to a mad drive to improve my skills, I have a stack of certifications from many classes and workshops, and was an Educator, teaching hair cutting techniques, for a major product line.  My work has graced the cover of several national magazines, and I was Key Hairstylist on a film done in 1998.

Josh:

I have been a Massage Therapist for more than two years now and I love the work.  I studied at The National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, and I specialize in Swedish Massage, but am comfortable with Shiatsu as well as various other techniques.  I naturally want my clients to feel as comfortable as possible, so my Massage room is a very welcoming environment.  Relaxing sounds, candles, and the fragrance of essential oils, create a peaceful, soothing atmosphere.  Massage time is never hurried, except as necessary to accommodate your schedule, and ranges from a full hour to an hour and fifteen minutes.  Please check out the "Massage" page for specials.
